The Bailey bridge and its derivatives are more or less obsolete and in recent years, newer panel type bridges have been introduced that are more structurally efficient.

At Janson, we supply high strength Panel Bridges for rental to construction, building, exploration and mining companies, as well as Local Authorities and the Highways Agency.

The Heavy Section Panel Bridges are particularly useful for the transportation of excavation and filling material for the construction of major roads and new railways, where the contractor needs to use high capacity dumper trucks and other earthmoving equipment.

Similar needs may occur for reclamation works on contaminated land sites. Equally they can be used very effectively for long span bridges required as temporary replacements to old highway bridges whilst they are re-built or being strengthened.
